Venus Envy is a multi-disciplinary celebration of women in the arts. Begun in 1999 in Saint Louis, Venus Envy is a movement that expanded to other communities along the Mississippi River and, in Spring 2005, to the Quad Cities of Iowa and Illinois. Venus Envy Quad Cities has become an all-female juried arts extravaganza, showcasing the creative successes of women from throughout the Midwest. The Venus Envy event and exhibit are renowned for a vast array of media, styles, and content. The event is hosted by MidCoast Fine Arts and the artists of the Bucktown Center for the Arts.
